Semester Reflection

Now that the 2009-10 school year is well underway, it's to take a few minutes and reflect upon your achievement level thus far. Are you achieving the academic champion level of accomplishment? If yes, then continue to work hard, work smart, and work together with your teacher, classmates, and others. Continue to keep your sights on your short and long range goals. If you aren't quite at the academic champion level, if you are not in the ACC yet, or if you are a member and your achievement is falling, you need to recommit yourself to higher work ethics. Keep persisting until you do succeed at returning to membership in the ACC.

New Beginnings

Welcome to the 2009-10 school year. Now is a new beginning for everyone, and now is the perfect time to decide to be an Academic Champion for this school year. Decide NOW that you will always Choose the Right, that you will always Work Hard, Work Smart, and Work Together with your teachers, classmates, and others. Seek to make this year the best year you've ever had, that you will reach the highest level of academic achievement ever. As Arnold H. Glasgow said, "Success is simple: do what's right, the right way, at the right time." Notice he didn't say that success is easy, but that it is simple; just follow his formula. Students, seek to become members of the Academic Champion Club (ACC) this first semester, and then you can maintain this achievement. Remember to always carry your CTR cards with you to remind you of your personal 24/7 motto and your mission.

Have a wonderful year. I'll see all of you at the next ACC Meeting!

Endure to the End

There is only one more full week in this school year. Students today were totally obedient and supportive, which is unusual for this last stage in the game of the school year. I have been stressing to the students the importance of enduring to the end, that finishers are wanted.

I received copies of the book "The 16 Quality Points of Academic Chamjpions, and I think it is beautiful. I wrote this book as a second edition, altering it somewhat from the volume last year. I plan to give each student a copy of thie book for the purposes of inspiring them to choose the right and to work hard to be academically successful.

Beginning or Ending

I saw a statement once that read, "It's not how you start a race that counts but how you finish." It reminds me of college athletics. For example, college basketball. At the beginning of the basketball season, polls come out ranking teams as number one, number two, number three, etc. Then at the end of the season, following March Madness, the national champion is declared. Would you rather be ranked number one at the beginning of the season or number one at the ending? I think we all know the answer. Thus, it's not so much where or how you begin, but how you perform during the season and where you finish at the end.

School is the same. It's more important how you perform during the school year and how you finish at the end of the school year rather than where and how you begin the school year.

Journey's End

We have only two more weeks of school, and this school year will end. June 30 is the last day, and then the very next day starts the new school year.
Students, endure to the end of the school year's journey. Finishers are needed. Be a finisher in order to achieve new and greater heights of achievement.
